PRIVACY & SAFETY
Privacy & Safety Policy
The Nook is committed to protecting the privacy of our members and ensuring the safety of every mom and child who enters our space. We have established the following policies to uphold our standards of respect, security, and community well-being.
👩👧 Child Safety

Parental Responsibility: All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who remains on-site at all times. The Nook does not provide babysitting or childcare services.

Play Area Use: The playroom is designed for children ages 0–8 and is intended for supervised, respectful play. Parents are responsible for their child’s behavior and safety.

Health & Hygiene: For the safety of all, children and adults who are ill should stay home. Hand sanitizers and cleaning supplies are available throughout the space.

Socks are required and no shoes in the ball pit or Kid Zone are allowed.
🔒 Member Privacy

Personal Information: We collect only essential information (e.g., name, email, emergency contact) to provide services and communicate with our members. This data is never shared or sold.

We may recommend certain third party businesses to our members and clients. This does not mean we're responsible for any actions against you taken on their part.

Photos & Media: We will never share photos or videos of you or your children without your permission.

Wi-Fi Usage: Free Wi-Fi is provided to all members who pay for the V.I.P Package. We are not responsible for any data breach or threat you receive by using the Wi-Fi. We recommend avoiding sensitive transactions on shared networks and using personal discretion when working online. It is your responsibility to arrange insurance for your own property which you bring into The Nook and for your own liability to your employees and to third parties.
Credit & Debit Card Use
Payment by Card
The Nook accepts most major credit and debit cards for payment. By presenting your card for payment, you authorize The Nook to charge the total amount of your purchase, including any applicable taxes, fees, or add-ons, to the card you provide.
Cardholder Responsibility
You represent and warrant that you are an authorized user of the card and that you will not dispute the payment with your card company, provided that the transaction corresponds to the goods and services received at The Nook.
Refunds & Chargebacks
All sales are subject to The Nook’s refund policy. In the event of a chargeback or payment dispute, you remain responsible for the amount of the transaction and agree to reimburse The Nook for any fees or costs incurred as a result of the dispute.
Data Security
The Nook does not store full card numbers or sensitive payment details. Payments are processed through a secure third-party payment processor. By using a credit or debit card, you acknowledge and agree that The Nook is not liable for any unauthorized access, breaches, or issues arising from the payment processor.
Disclaimer of Liability for Goods Sold or Purchased
All products, merchandise, or items available for purchase within The Nook, including but not limited to goods sold in the co-op or through individual vendors, are provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The Nook does not manufacture, test, or guarantee any products offered for sale on its premises.
By purchasing any item within The Nook, you acknowledge and agree that:

Vendor Responsibility – Each vendor, maker, or seller is solely responsible for the safety, quality, labeling, and performance of their products.

Assumption of Risk – You assume full responsibility for any use or consumption of purchased items, including but not limited to food, beverages, crafts, toys, or wellness products.

Release of Liability – To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Nook, its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any loss, injury, illness, damages, or claims arising out of or relating to the purchase or use of products sold on the premises.

Indemnification – You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Nook and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) resulting from your purchase or use of such items.

Secure Access: The Nook operates during posted business hours. Only members and registered guests are permitted in the space.
Conduct Expectations:

Disruptive, discriminatory, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to revoke access for any individual who compromises the safety or well-being of others.

Emergency Preparedness: Our staff is trained in basic emergency response procedures, and exits are clearly marked.
